Information

Channel summer energy into positive outcomes at Mighty Moves Kids Camp at Frogtown Jiu-Jitsu. Kids will learn to move together, help each other build confidence, and gain practical skills for self-defense.

Our camps are led by Colton Smith who started Jiu-Jitsu at age 6 in a kids’ program taught by FtJJ Head Instructor, Paul Schreiner. Since then, Colton has been dedicated to getting kids excited to play, explore, and work together on the mats. Sessions will be based around engaging games that cultivate movement skills and teamwork. They’ll also be staffed with knowledgeable assistants to help keep things playful and safe.

FAQ

Throughout the day, campers participate in fun, movement-based games that develop cooperation, balance, and focus – often with a light martial arts twist. There will be breaks for snacks, free play, or just getting to know each other, followed by more group challenges and team-building exercises. Guest instructors – all advanced BJJ practitioners, will drop in to teach fundamental techniques and have the kids drill basic movements to encourage them to move mindfully.

The day ends with a cool-down game or reflection circle, helping kids wind down while reinforcing positive values like respect and friendship.

Please make sure your child has a nutrient-dense breakfast before coming to camp every day. The kids will be active and will need energy. Kids will need to bring a lunch, as well as filling snacks (granola bars, fruit, etc.), water, and sun protection. We have a water station at the facility, so a refillable bottle is fine. No glass containers please.

Your child should wear loose fitting athletic clothing that's comfortable for them to move in (t-shirt and leggings/sweat pants/athletic shorts). Please also pack a hat, SPF and a protective long-sleeve layer.

Do not bring a gi or belt to camp.
